EcoNet Intelligent Power Collection
Network
Power loss must be accounted for in the equations for
the design of any wind energy facility, but our
patent-pending EcoNet Intelligent Power Collection
Network minimizes those losses and maximizes
reliability. EcoNet reduces initial costs by using
fewer, more efficient transformers coupled with parallel
current paths that reduce power loss in the cable and
provide added system reliability.
Each EcoNet Intelligent Power Collection Network
involves multiple iterations to find the best economic
value for the variables being considered. The result is
a power collection network that delivers the best
possible lifecycle costs through the optimal combination
of:
- Transformer size and quantity.
- More cost-effective cable sizes, parallel conductor paths and lengths.
- Better component availability and pricing.
- Site condition and installation costs.
- Lower maintenance costs through increased online uptime
- Reduced operating costs due to lower power losses in cables.
- Cost of money – often an overlooked variable. EcoNet optimizes based
on required rates of return and considers future saving discounted back for a
present value
EcoEnergy has designed two levels of protection for the
EcoNet process:
EcoNet Basic provides over-current protection and the
flexibility to manually isolate faulted cable for quick
recovery.
EcoNet Advanced provides more sophisticated
protection for automated fault isolation and immediate
fault recovery.
