Energy Project Development

Finding projects. Evaluating sites. Creating, enhancing and maintaining important relationships.

Whether finding an appropriate project, evaluating property, or providing specialized engineering services before construction begins, we understand alternative energy development every step of the way. Our development group can bring together a wide variety of partners from investors to utility representatives to community stakeholders, allowing us to accurately estimate overall costs and investment returns much more effectively than alternative energy companies only participating in isolated steps of the process. Any type of energy project has specific challenges, but we make sure all the components of an energy system work together in the proper sequence to operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Energy development capabilities include:

Project Identification

  • Initial studies – complete feasibility studies, economic analysis.
  • Project planning – permitting, assistance with power purchase agreements, interconnection with the electrical utility, plans for design and construction.
  • Plans and negotiation for the sale of the energy produced.

Resource Evaluation

  • Site and project selection – initial review and evaluation, most effective options for location.
  • Ownership and agreements – investigation, recommendation, and implementation of best options for project ownership, structure development, and operating agreements.
  • Environmental studies.
  • Project design and engineering.

Relationship Responsibility

  • Negotiations with all necessary partners and stakeholders – such as utilities, government entities at any level, landowners, neighbors, environmental groups, and community players – including leases, and in the case of wind facilities, wind measurement agreements.
  • Commitment to ongoing communication to reinforce open dialogue.
  • Work with EcoEnergy’s construction group, or another construction entity if needed, to maximize construction efficiency.

When evaluating a potential wind power site, many variables must be taken into consideration. EcoEnergy’s team has the talent and the technology to ensure that our wind facilities produce maximum energy output.
