Why BioFuel?
BioFuel is an abundant and underutilized resource that can be immediately tapped as an alternative energy resource. It can be found almost everywhere when an alternative energy company like EcoEnergy is inventive enough to see – and harness – its potential.
Why biomass?
- It is carbon neutral and can decrease greenhouse gas emissions
- It can be produced by dedicated cultivation or by-products
- It can be used as a decentralized source of energy, since conversion can take place close to production
- It can be burned to produce electricity or gasified to produce a non-fossil substitute for natural gas
- It can provide social and economic benefits and reduce dependence on imported oil
- It is a proven solution, showing spectacular results:
- In Austria, there has been an increase in the use of biomass for district heating by a factor of six, and in Sweden by factor of eight during the last ten years
- In the USA, more than 8,000 Megawatts of installed generating capacity is based on the use of biomass
- In France, 5% of heat used for space heating is produced from biomass
- In Finland, bioenergy already contributes about 18% of total energy production and the aim is to further increase this to 28% in 2025
